Dr. Taruna Anand is a Scientist (S.S.) at Veterinary Type Culture Collection, ICAR-NRC on Equines, Hisar, Haryana, India. She is specialised in Bacteriophage biology, microbiology and Stem cell biology. She was awarded University Gold Medal during her M.Sc. She has also a specialisation in biotechnology, mainly cell culture techniques, molecular biology and lab techniques. While being in VTCC, she was associated with generation of cell lines, their characterization, virus isolation and detection in cell culture system, with bacteriology and currently with isolation and identification of bacteriophages. She is associated with identification and molecular analysis of pox virus and equine influenza virus. Recently, she has generated a mouse model for equine influenza vaccine.
